The collection consists of nine items, including: four letters to Jepson, 1909-1914, short notes accepting an invitation, apologizing for a delay in returning a book, thanking him for a copy of The Passion for Romance, and recommending his agent; undated four-line verse, commenting humorously on his Biography for Beginners; note to Dear sir, undated, replying to a request for his birthday; also, three contemporary clippings on Bentley's death, 1956, praising his whimsical verse, his novel, Trent's last case, and his contributions to the career of his friend, Damon Runyon.
